14 APRIL 1994 CME EVENT by K. Harvey This pair of images was prepared by Karen to illustrate the change in the He 10830 image that resulted from this great polar crown eruption. Note especially the movement and "sharpening up" of the coronal hole boundaries. Note also that after the arcade formation the coronal hole boundary is defined by the outermost footpoints of the post-CME arcade. L. Acton 1/25/95

The solar x-ray images are from the Yohkoh mission of ISAS, Japan. The x-ray telescope was prepared by the Lockheed Palo Alto Research Laboratory, the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, and the University of Tokyo with the support of NASA and ISAS.
