The Carte du Ciel enterprise

The Observatoire Royal de Belgique

Although initially it was not involved in the enterprise, in 1906 it took over the +39° to +32° zone for the Carte du Ciel. The zone had been originally assigned to the Potsdam Observatory whose Director, H.C. Vogel,  in 1904 decided not to even start taking the long-exposure plates.

The majority of the charts (i.e. 500) were published before 1935. The charts also indicate the plate numbers.
