General Information
How to reach OAPa
From the Falcone-Borsellino airport (25 km)
It is possible to use an underground train, which leaves at 5.40, 6.10 and every hour from 7.40 onwards. The ticket costs 4.40 euro.
If you are at the arrival level, go to the underground floor, in order to get the train.
Get out at "Orleans" station, after "Notarbartolo" station, and follow the direction "Piazza Indipendenza".
You will be at the back of the Royal Palace. To reach the Observatory you are allowed to use ONLY the main entrance, which is located in the front of the Palace in PIAZZA DEL PARLAMENTO.
Moreover, a regular shuttle service is operated by "Prestia e Comande'" (tel+39-91-586351). Get out of the shuttle in PIAZZA POLITEAMA (also known as Piazza R.Settimo). Take bus no.104 (operated by AMAT) from the nearby bus stop (tickets, Eu. 1,30 each, can be purchased in tobacconist shops and newsagents) and get out at PIAZZA INDIPENDENZA at the back of the Royal Palace. To reach the Observatory you are allowed to use ONLY the main entrance, which is located in the front of the Palace in PIAZZA DEL PARLAMENTO.
At the airport is also availabe a TAXI service.
From the railway central station
Take bus no.109 (tickets, Eu. 1,30 each, can be purchased in tobacconist shops and newsagents) and get out at PIAZZA INDIPENDENZA at the back of the Royal Palace.To reach the Observatory you are allowed to use ONLY the main entrance, which is located in the front of the Palace in PIAZZA DEL PARLAMENTO.
